I discovered that Hi-Fi shelf systems are not popular any more and # of models is very limited if you do not want to spend over $100.I have it for a couple days and generally like it: - it is a new one (Jan 2011); - relatively cheap ($88, Walmart online); - equalizer has about 6 options (3 on earlier model); - sound is not bad for small size unit from CD and FM (loud enough for 300 sq feet room with 25 people). - I think it has no more than 30 W per channel (not 50 W as advertised). There is a cooling fan inside, it kicks on when you use on high output power over 15 units on volume; - headphone jack; - long range remote control (up to 20 feet as tested). What I do not like: - a bit akward and looks cheap design; - no input from other sources (line in or USB); - very weak AM radio reception (needed to open its case to...
