I was hoping for something a bit more subdued, but this was what I found. I have set the system up in our built-ins around our fireplace in a great room with fantastic accoustics (high vaulted ceiling, hardwood, etc.). So, the player is in about the best install location possible. It sounds great when it has clean source material. We will use it primarily with an iPod. I've noticed that some iPod music isn't as clean as I'd like and does put a bit of mild hiss to the speakers. Whereas, a good CD recording sounds crystal clear. The bass is strong and the volume capacity is everything I hoped for. I haven't pushed it to it's limit, so I don't know where that is, but we have all the volume we need. I would recommend this purchase to anyone looking for this type of system. My biggest disappointment is that there is no visualization with the LCD when listening to music. So you... I purchased the system to replace another Sony shelf stereo platform. The only thing I would change is some of the on-board menu controls that are displayed on the 7-inch LCD. You will need to read the manual to operate the system. My system enables me to set the clock to start my day with the radio coming on ata pre-programmed time. I can also listen to music from my iPod, AM/FM radio or cd's. I especially like viewing DVD's from my library before I go off to sleep. My system is set up close to my bed on a shelf which provides me the flexibilty to take advantage of the state of the art features offered. This system provides VERY GOOD sound and the 7" screen is sharp and perfect for viewing from my bed. With the easy to use remote I can move from one program to another with ease. This mini stereo system is well thought out for today's youth and people who want finger tip control with the features offered! |
